Where do I begin? I was buying a tattoo kit for my girl friend's b-day and this started kit looked promising. Don't buy it, it is a waste of your money, I repeat don't buy this kit! It didn't come with practice skins like it said it would. The "Practice Paper" is just computer paper with designs printed on it from the sellers computer. The ink containers were broke open with ink all over the kit. The guns are not new they are refurbished guns. The "DVD" that accompanies it is really a CD that was copied from his computer, it is terrible. The quality of the CD is bad and my girl friend will have to look on you tube on how to tattoo. The kit is of no brand Either. It is a total rip off of another kit. To reiterate this review. THE KIT IS A RIP OFF; THE GUNS AREN'T NEW(ONLY REFURBISHED), THE "DVD" IS A MASS COPIED "CD" THAT IS IN CHINESE AND BELIEVE ME, "IT WON'T HELP YOU TATOO." YOUR BETTER OFF STABING YOURSELF WITH A NEEDLE AND POURING INK ON, THEN USING THIS KIT.

Let me start this review by saying that at first this appears to be a good starter kit for a beginner. I was at first dissapointed when it did not come with practice skin. Then I watch the "do it yourself video" which was terrible, not helpful at all, and quite frankly had a creepy soundtrack. Then I started doing tattoos, all was well. And then on the 5th tattoo I did the power source took a crap on me in the middle of the session thus ruining my clients tattoo as well as my reputation. I am extremely dissapointed in this product.

I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE KITS AND THE SPRINGS KEEP BREAKING ON ME AND ONE STOPED WORKING PROFESIONAL DON'T THINK SO MAYBE I JUST GOT A BAD SET BUT I DAUGHT IT...BUT I DO AGREE ON THE PACKING IT WAS PACKAGED GOOD.

Bought this kit for my husband for his birthday, the kit arrived with in 4 days well packaged. I'd say this is a professional kit that comes with everything listed in the description. The guns are great quality and the set up was very easy. The only issue I had was the dvd would require a program to view it, but the videos can be found else where on youtube so that was not a big deal. I'd buy again from them.

This is a complete and total kick in the teeth to our industry. This SOB has no respect for the art and history of tattooing if he is so quick to make a buck with 'do it yourself' DVDs to teach scratchers in their garages how to mess people up. Remember kids - you can't erase when you tattoo. You want to be a tattoo artist - get a respectable apprenticeship from a reputable artist/shop and start at the bottom like we all did. You're not going to be Kat Von Dee after watching some low life's DVD. Hopefully you won't be Kat Von Dee at all - the world would be better if she fell off the face of it.

This video was a gift for my girlfriend who was learning how to tattoo. this video sure came fast but had NO usefull information at all. Low quality video.

These videos are absolutely no help. I didn't learn anything from these, it was pretty much common sense. He just tattooed and didn't explain the techniques. These are not informational or how-to DVD's. Do not waste your money!

The machines work flawlessly, although i recommend buying some different ink separately. It is decent ink but not of superb quality. Although it's not listed I received some practice skin with my order which isn't very good. but besides the ink and practice skin. The machines, the power supply, the case, and all of the accessories were way more than worth the price. There was way more in the kit than is listed here!

Shipped to my doorstep less than 48 hours from order time and I used standard shipping. Product was neat, packaged nicely and had everything it listed and more. I expect it to work as beautiful as it looks. If I have problems with the machinery or equipment I will update this, but so far I am VERY Satisfied.

This book was more interesting than an episode of Miami Ink, but was less universal than I had hoped. The parts that intrigued me the most weren't focused on. (Really, you were at a party with a cult leader who wet himself and no one around him acknowledged noticing, and you can not only not tell me who this cult leader was, but not even what kind of cult it was? I need to know.) What I needed to know less about were the anatomical anomalies of the women he has tattooed. This book is probably much more interesting to those who have tattoos. As with all books that talk a lot about specific art I haven't seen, I wish there had been pictures. Maybe there are in the released edition.

Any fan of tattoos or the tattoo world would love this book. I enjoyed it and found it to be quite pleasing.

Tattoo Machine is not just a book about the tattoo industry, but a well-crafted memoir by Jeff Johnson, co-owner of the oldest tattoo parlor in the United States. Johnson is a wonderful writer, and he weaves his story in the industry well, educating his readers about life as a tattoo artist and his struggles to stay sane and sober.

I don't know what made me choose this book in the first place since I mostly dislike tattoos. I used to despise them, but over the past 20 years, they've become so ubiquitous that I barely notice them anymore. I really don't understand the culture of people who cover themselves in tattoos. That being said, I am a little fascinated by the stories that come out of tattoo parlors. I used to watch the show Inked about Carey Hart's shop, and I loved it. What first struck me in reading this book was that the author knows how to write. He uses lots of big words, lots of descriptive language. Later in the book that same language started to get on my nerves. And he does reveal that he's an avid reader and always wanted to try his hand at writing, so it's not like his being able to write was just some stroke of luck. Overall, I found the stories in the book interesting and often humorous, and I think Jeff Johnson seems like a cool guy to know. I like the way he talked about his wife in the book. It's always nice to hear a man expressing his love and admiration for his better half. If you're a tattoo fan you'll almost surely like the book. If, like me, you're just curious, you will like it too.
